What is hypnotherapy and how does it work?
Hypnotherapy is a gentle, focused, and deeply relaxed state of awareness that lets us work directly with the subconscious mind, where your beliefs, habits, and emotional patterns actually live. In everyday life the conscious mind acts like a gatekeeper, filtering and second-guessing everything. Hypnosis simply quiets that gatekeeper so we can release the fear, limiting beliefs, limiting decisions, and negative emotions left behind by trauma and life experience, and replace them with clarity and resourceful new patterns. You remain aware, present, and fully in charge the entire time.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Nearly everyone can experience hypnosis, because it is a natural state you already move in and out of every day, like getting lost in a book, driving a familiar route on autopilot, or the drift between waking and sleep. The main requirements are a willingness to participate and a readiness to follow along. People who are open, focused, and want the change tend to experience it most easily.
Will I lose control or be made to do something?
No. This is one of the most common myths, and it comes from stage shows and movies, not therapeutic work. You cannot be made to say or do anything against your values, your morals, or your will. Hypnosis is a state of heightened focus, not surrender. You are always aware, you can speak, move, and end the session at any moment, and you remain the one in the driver's seat throughout.
Will I remember the session afterward?
Almost always, yes. Most people remember the session much like a vivid daydream or a calm, absorbing conversation. Some feel so relaxed that a few details soften or fade, which is completely normal. Either way, the meaningful work continues at the subconscious level whether or not you recall every word.
What does hypnosis actually feel like?
Most people describe it as deeply calm, warm, and pleasant, similar to the heavy relaxed feeling right before you fall asleep, or the absorbed focus of meditation. Your body settles, your mind slows, and time often feels different. There is no single "right" way it should feel. Whatever your natural experience is, it is exactly enough for the work to happen.
What can hypnotherapy help with?
Hypnotherapy can support a wide range of goals, including releasing anxiety and stress, quieting persistent fears and phobias, dissolving limiting beliefs and self-doubt, building confidence, breaking unwanted habits, improving focus and performance, healing the emotional residue of past experiences, and reconnecting with a clear sense of purpose. It is not medical or psychiatric treatment, but it is a powerful complement to your growth.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on you and your goals. Some concerns shift meaningfully in a single focused session, while deeper or longer-standing patterns unfold best across a series. Many clients choose the six-session journey because lasting transformation tends to build in layers. On your Self-Discovery Call we will look at where you are and recommend the most appropriate path forward, with no pressure.
What happens on the Self-Discovery Call?
The Self-Discovery Call is a relaxed conversation to understand where you are, what you want to change, and what you are ready to release. There is no obligation. LeTricia will listen, answer your questions, and recommend the most fitting next step, whether that is a single session, the à la carte options, or a full transformation program. It is simply the doorway in.
Is there anything I should do to prepare?
Yes, and it matters. Please arrive well-rested, having eaten a normal meal beforehand, and well-hydrated, and avoid alcohol or recreational substances before your session. Hypnotherapy works best when your body and mind are settled and comfortable, so come as your rested, nourished self. You will also complete a short Discovery Questionnaire in advance so we can make the most of our time together.
Are sessions available virtually?
Yes. Sessions can be held virtually over a secure video connection, and the experience is just as effective as being in the room. You simply need a quiet, private space where you will not be interrupted, a comfortable place to sit or recline, headphones if possible, and a stable internet connection.
Do I need to hold any particular spiritual beliefs?
Not at all. ApexAura welcomes people of every background, worldview, and spiritual path. This work honors you as a whole person, mind, body, and purpose, and it never asks you to adopt or abandon any belief. Whatever grounds and inspires you is welcome here. The work meets you exactly where you are.
Do I have to believe in hypnosis for it to work?
You do not have to be a believer, but you do need to be willing. Curiosity is enough. Many analytical and skeptical clients turn out to be wonderful subjects precisely because they are focused and observant. What matters is that part of you genuinely wants the change and is willing to follow the process.
Will I feel results immediately?
Some people feel a noticeable shift right away, a lightness, calm, or clarity, while for others the change settles in over the following days and weeks as the subconscious integrates the work. Both experiences are normal and valid. Transformation is a process, and it continues quietly between sessions.
Do you guarantee results?
No ethical practitioner can guarantee a specific outcome, because your results depend on many personal factors, including your openness, your participation, and your follow-through. What LeTricia guarantees is her full skill, presence, and commitment to your process. The most powerful results come from a true partnership between practitioner and client.
What is my responsibility as a client?
Your role is to show up ready and engaged, to be honest about what you are experiencing, to arrive rested and nourished, to participate openly in the process, and to take ownership of your own decisions and wellbeing during and after the work. You are the author of your transformation. LeTricia is your guide, and you hold the pen.
Is hypnotherapy a substitute for medical or mental-health care?
No. Hypnotherapy and coaching are personal-development services and are not medical, psychological, or psychiatric treatment, diagnosis, or crisis care, and they do not replace care from a licensed professional. If you are working with a physician or therapist, please continue that care. For some concerns, we may ask for written authorization or a referral before beginning.
Do you work with children or teens?
ApexAura services are designed for adults eighteen and older. Work with minors, when appropriate, requires the involvement and written consent of a parent or legal guardian and is considered case by case. Please reach out directly to discuss whether it is a fit.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
We ask for reasonable advance notice to cancel or reschedule so the time can be offered to someone else. Specific windows and any associated fees are shared when you book. Missed appointments without notice may be charged in full. Refunds are considered individually and are subject to approval from LeTricia L. Fields.
Do you accept insurance, HSA, or FSA?
Hypnotherapy and coaching are not licensed clinical services, so they are generally not billable to insurance. Depending on your plan and provider, an HSA or FSA may or may not apply, so please check with your administrator directly. Payment terms and plans are available, and we are happy to walk you through the options.
Is everything I share kept confidential?
Yes. What you share is held with care and discretion and is never sold or disclosed except with your consent, as needed to deliver the work, or where disclosure is required by law or to protect against a serious risk of harm. Please note that because this is not a licensed clinical service, it is not covered by medical-privacy laws such as HIPAA. Full details are in our privacy and confidentiality policies below.
